Top 10 Scariest Movies
The night is getting deeper, the wind chillier, and small, horrendous monstrosities are knocking on every door asking for treats. As you snuggle safely under your sheets while unimaginable creatures and entities of every kind roam the streets and party the night away, here are a few films that you may like to watch to pass the time until sunrise. But a word of advice: you may not want to watch these on your own. In horror movies, those who are alone usually die first.
In no particular order, here is my list of Top 10 scariest horror movies to watch this Halloween:
10. The Shining (1980)
This is the most memorable performance of Jack Nicholson ever. His face peeking through that broken wooden door with that devilish smile will be forever etched in my memory.

How would you handle the exorcism film that inspired all exorcism films? Turning your head 360 degrees or spider-walking down the stairs might do the trick.

8. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
Imagine yourself getting chased by a man with a chainsaw. Not scary enough? Let’s add his family of grave-robbing cannibals.

7. Insidious (2010)
After watching this movie, lucid dreaming no longer sounded cool. This film changed the way I see out of body experiences and astral projection.

ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome list! I love that most it are older films. They tend to focus on the human aspect that makes up a good horror film, something that CGI lacks in these days. Halloween is # 1? Interesting. I must add it to my must-watch movies.
ReplyDeleteYou must insert some Holocaust movie into it...and also saw and wrong turn movie sequences as well.I think they are more scary than the exorcist,silence of lambs or the grudges sequences
ReplyDeleteTop 10 Scariest Movies! The Shining for me was an extremely scary movie. I saw it at a very young age without my parents consent and WOW. I still have an original Shining refrigerator magnet I got from a specialty shop a long time ago. Silence of the Lambs was another great movie to me. The Grudge was good also. I liked 1408 and A Nightmare On Elm Street too. Halloween was a good first pick in my opinion. I would have added The Ring and the first Saw and removed Carrie and Insidious. Great list thanks for sharing!
