A Different Kind of Food Trip: Our Legazpi Sunday Market Experience
When I go on foodtrips with my friends we often do the usual
restaurant-hopping in a certain area. Buuuut we thought we should be more
creative with our adventures and go out of our comfort zones every now and then. Hence, we had our Laguna Road/Food trip last year which culminated in a
staycation at Sol Y Viento Resorts.
This year, we did it the other way around - we first had a nice sleepover at KL Hotel at Makati one Saturday night, and then had a nice gastronomic walk-around at Legazpi Sunday Market the next day. It was my first time to visit the place, so let me take you through our experience in pictures.

The Legazpi Sunday Market is a Banchetto-ish experience where you can drop by stall after stall and see what specialty dish they have
for sale. There are the usual grilled food and ulam dishes which you can have
if you’re like us who's looking for something for brunch.
Take note though that this place has the word “Market” on its name for a
reason. Aside from the cooked specialty dishes that you can gobble up right after you
buy, they also have the usual palengke offers like meat, fish, fruits and
vegetables. There’s even an area where you can buy accessories, trinkets, and dresses!
There’s also a band to give you background music while you
search for food. You know, to make you feel like you’re in Chef.
Below are what we ended up bringing to our hotel. My
personal favorites were the Polish Pierogi, the Bagnet, and the Maja.

The Legazpi Sunday Market actually gave me an idea: For our
next foodie experience, what if we
cook our own food for a change, yeah?
