Prime Program: A "Daily's Diet Delivery Service" Review
There are so many diet delivery options right
now in Metro Manila, that I’m starting to wonder how these services differ, other
than in pricing and menu. Before this, I’ve already tried two – Yummy Diet and
Plan:Eat. In terms of service, both options are pretty consistent with their
delivery, and I guess the major difference is that Plan:Eat is waaay more
affordable than Yummy Diet. The latter however, scored several notches higher when
we talk about the quality and taste of the food they prepare.
Another diet delivery service that I’ve
recently stumbled upon is Daily’s Diet
Delivery Service. It’s a relatively new player, which kinda made me wonder
how they stand out from the other brands that have already dominated the calorie-conscious
market. But before we discuss that, allow me to take you through a week of
Daily’s Diet Delivery:
Day 1:
Breakfast: Mexican Fish and Bean Burrito with Guacamole
AM Snack: Lychees
Lunch: Szechuan minced pork cabbage wrap with spicy
hoisin dip
PM Snack: Garlic Toasted Bread
Dinner: Cherry tomatoes & sausages spiral pasta
The burrito was something new to me to have for
breakfast, especially that its color was green. If anything, it made a good
first impression. It was also nice the lychees were unpeeled. So far so good.
Day 2:
Breakfast: Banana Almond and Blueberry yogurt crepe
AM Snack: Assorted canapes
Lunch: Jiampong Korean Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup
PM Snack: Ponkan
Dinner: Hawaiian Char-grilled chicken barbecue with
atsara on brown java rice
Yogurt for breakfast?
Daily’s Diet seemed to be pretty consistent with their surprises for breakfast
dishes! The crepe was pretty and had a decent taste so I didn’t mind. The
Jiampong also left a lasting impression, given that it had a generous amount of
seafood, even containing shrimps, mussels, and squid.
Day 3:
Breakfast: Chicken Meatballs with chunky Italian herb
tomato sauce over angel hair
AM Snack: Watermelon wedges with grapes
Lunch: Seafood paella
PM Snack: Almond Jelly with Mango and Sago
Dinner: Turkey breast ham, cucumber & tomato
ciabatta sandwich with Asian dressing
The paella had the
same seafood as the jiampong I had the previous day, so I doubted that the
seafood was fresh. The PM Snack and the sandwich I had for dinner were the most
memorable and tasty that I had this day.
Day 4:
Breakfast: Daily’s Strawberry Cheesecake oatmeal
AM Snack: Lakatan
Lunch: Vietnamese spring rolls w/ sweet chili lime
and vinegar dip
PM Snack: Corn Muffin
Dinner: Country style chicken with Chinese 5 spice
sauce & wild rice
I’m not a huge fan of
oatmeal but fuse it with strawberry cheesecake and you’ll have me licking my
plate. Day 4 seemed to be more special than usual because I loved all three of
my main meals!
Day 5:
Breakfast: Daily’s Beef Tapa, sunny-side egg &
tomato onion salad on wild rice
AM Snack: Fresh apple
Lunch: Seafood chowder with garlic toast
PM Snack: Tuna sandwich
Dinner: Blackened herb salmon with mixed vegetables
& curry mashed potato
I was so happy with
my breakfast! Nothing beats a Pinoy almusal, and I particularly loved this one
because it doesn’t feel like I’m dieting. My mood went a bit down during lunchtime
because chowder isn’t really my thing, good thing dinner made up for the downer
with the herb salmon which tasted great too!

So what makes Daily’s
Diet different from other diet delivery services that has already been present
longer in the market , especially that its price is relatively close to those
of the popular brands? If we talk about the recipes, everybody’s boasting that
they serve great food, so there has to be something else, yeah?
These diet delivery
services make sure that their weekly menu meets the right amount of nutrients
that an average body would need. Daily’s Diet does this by having a registered nutritionist dietician who
calculates the amount of Macronutrients and calories one gets from different
food groups, to give you the perfect balance of nutrients. What makes them
different though, is that their dietician is also available for free
consultations (check out the contact details below)! Now I haven’t tried this
particular service for myself, but this just goes to show that their service
definitely goes beyond cooking for you and delivering your meals.
The best part though,
is that they offer Medical Modified diets
under their Prime Nutrition Program. These
are specialized diets designed for those who have special needs for their
health. Check out the diets under this unique program below:

If there's anything that may need improvement, I say that their packaging could be better, because the paper bag sometimes gets torn. The deliveries also don't include utensils unlike with Yummy Diet and Plan:Eat, although I didn't mind since I have a spoon and fork accessible to me during mealtime anyways. Plus, it's not good for the environment if you get plastic utensils every day.
It’s good that the
guys behind Daily’s Diet know that healthy food, can and SHOULD taste great
too, and I’m pretty happy with what I have been getting daily so far. Of
course, there are some dishes that don’t excite me that much, but those are
mainly because of personal preferences.
