Star Wars The Force Awakens Spoiler-Free Review
By Michael Joselo:
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
did not just give me chills, but even made me cry from the opening crawl up
until the end of the film. I even cry out of amusement and love for the movie every
time the well-known ships and droids appear on screen! I started reminisicng my childhood, and I’m
sure I’m not tht only one. Fans who were born in the original trilogy releases
back then in 1977, 1980 and 1983, and of course, the 1997 re-release of the
original trilogy would most likely have the same reaction that I did. I loved
the original trilogy characters, and yes, I was teary-eyed every time an
original trilogy character comes out.
You can probably guess by now that I
loved this latest Star Wars installment,. but this is not just brought by my longing
to see another Star Wars film, I can really say that this is really good and
this is a real successful movie.
The movie is reminiscent of the original
trilogy in so many ways, not just because of the returning characters, or that
it’s a continuation 30 years after The Return of the Jedi. It indeed gave us
all the chills of reminiscing the original trilogy because of the scenes that
gives a lot of “déjà vu” to the viewers not just those who watched Star Wars
from a long time ago but also for those who became fans overnight through late
movie marathons.
After seeing the movie you would really
look for what happened between the Return of the Jedi and the Force Awakens.
Indeed a lot of the questions like “Where’s Luke?”, “Who is Kylo Ren?”, and “Is
it true that Chewbacca will die?” and a lot more questions are answered clearly
in the movie. Somehow, the movie still made it to link with the first Expanded
Universe we knew before the “Journey to the Force Awakens” series that was made
through novels, games and short stories.
The new characters were given justice by
the actors who portrayed them. I would give a lot of praise to Adam Driver as
Kylo Ren because I could compare him to Anakin Skywalker, however he really did
better than Hayden Christensen. For me though, the Prequel Trilogy is beautiful
in a different perspective. The characters were really “them” and yes I am sure
that unlike in the original trilogy where Harisson Ford is the man, these
people will be able to keep their career not just because Disney produces the
film but because they all did a great job!
The ships were amazing, the special
effects were believable, and yes the lighting effects was so J.J. Abrams
inspired and I did not see anything wrong about it. There are NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN
moments in a Star Wars movie before that was made possible this time, such as
explosions the blasters, the Kylo Ren Lightsaber and many more!
Well, all I can say is the hell, GO TO
THE CINEMAS NOW AND WATCH THE FILM! We want you to see what we saw, what “Star
Wars of the new generation” we saw.
Trully, Star wars galaxy is a family to the fans like us and this film won
another “galaxy” of fans.
After watching the film, my only
conclusion is, I am a child. I am still a child. I am a child who loves star
wars, and the force is strong with me for having a chance to watch the film
this early.
