Baguio Food Trip: Day 2

Day 1 of my Baguio food trip with my foodie squad turned out to be eventful in spite of us not being able to stick to our existing itinerary. We only had a few hours left on Day 2, so we knew that we had to make every second count.

Needless to say, we woke up late that Sunday morning, and right after we’ve freshened up and packed, we drove off with more food in mind.

Pizza Volante

Volante is probably the most popular pizza shop in Baguio. However, they serve more than just great tasting pizza – their breakfast dishes are also pretty good, not to mention the affordable steaks (at Php 159.00 to Php 229.00!).

In spite of having already ordered a lot, we knew that we had to try their famous pizza. We had the 6” sizes of the Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza (Php 89.00) and the Pizza Morengo (Php 92.00).

The rumors were true, Volante’s really did have great-tasting pizza. We wished though that they also had branches in Manila, so we won’t have to go all the way to Baguio to have a bite.

Vizco’s

We’ve heard some good things about Vizco’s Strawberry Shortcake so this is where we headed for dessert. It’s a good thing that it was just a short walk away from Volante's Technohub branch. We ordered three of their bestsellers – the ube, oreo, and strawberry shortcakes.

The strawberry shortcake tasted as good as it looked! It has just the right sweetness and was thick and creamy. This should be a great alternative pasalubong to the usual Baguio ube jam and lengua.

Stopover for Pasalubong at Good Shepherd

I’m pretty sure that my friends in Manila would ask for pasalubong after knowing I went to Baguio, and so a stopover at Good Shepherd was mandatory.  I liked how ordering has become systematic – you write down your orders on a piece of paper, then line up at the counters where they’ll prepare whatever’s in your paper.

I had a Lengua biscuit for my roommates, and also ordered a bottle of ube jam (more for myself, actually).

After Good Shepherd we started heading home and concluded our Baguio food trip. I would’ve told you about where we had dinner, but I don’t think you’d be interested in a Mcdonalds take-out.

I wonder where our next out-of-town food trip would be. Vigan sounds interesting, don’t you think?
